1. What are you most excited about for the Boston Marathon (things you have heard about, things you might be looking forward to the most)?
I’m most excited about experiencing the legendary energy of the Boston crowd I’m a big fan of races with a lot of crowd support. There’s also just something iconic about the course, the city, and knowing you’re part of such a historic event.
2. What made you want to do the Boston Marathon/when did it come on to your radar? What have you had to go through to qualify for the Boston Marathon?
Boston has always felt like the ultimate bucket list race. Even before I started running seriously, I knew about Boston, and I think everyone does. I am not super competitive with other people by nature although I always like to push myself. Once I realized qualifying was definitely within reach for me, it became a quiet goal I carried with me
3. Who is coming with you to the Boston Marathon (family/friends)?
My husband is coming with me, who is always so supportive of everything I do, especially my running. My two good friends Abbey and Juan will be there too. We run together every week, and they’ve become such a steady, motivating presence in my life. They both inspire me constantly with their dedication and kindness and I’ve benefited a lot from their advice.
4. What does running the Boston Marathon mean to you?
Running Boston feels like a celebration of everything I’ve poured into this sport. It’s a time where all of the freezing early mornings, the tough runs, the friendships, and the belief in myself comes together. Any race for me is about honoring the journey that brought me there.
5. What number marathon is this for you?
I’ve been running for as long as I can remember, but I always used to run half marathons, 10ks, and 5ks. So Boston will only be my fifth full marathon. I qualified for Boston on my third! I already have two more scheduled for 2025, including Chicago in the fall.
